Patio Opening

Patio Opening

Ah, Ford City in the summertime: That classic Windsor heat and humidity, the loud roar of motorcycle engines, and the entrepreneurial spirit on every corner.  Now we can add the sweet smell of jerk and breezy beats to the mix! Thanks to everyone who came out to our patio opening, especially Mark and Sonia from Peace Love & Jerk and our new pal, Russell, from Pacific Rhythm.  The idea here is guest chefs, musicians, artists...whomever and whatever! Keep an eye out on our Instagram to see what we're planning and be sure to drop by every Saturday for some delicious Jamaican...

Interview: Tim Cooke

Interview: Tim Cooke

There are laidback people, and then there are laidback sailors. Tim is definitely the latter. The 22 year-old recent poly-sci grad bought his first sailboat when he was just 17 and last summer he jumped at the chance to make his first ocean crossing. We sat down and chatted about his trip across the Atlantic, sailing in Windsor, and some of the cool microplastics research he's doing while spending the summer cruising around the Great Lakes.    Let’s start with one of those ‘small world’ stories: So last summer I’m in the shop with Carly from BLUEM and I’m telling her...

Interview: Katie Butler

Note: We were supposed to kick off our spring season at the shop with a show featuring Katie Butler (Instagram: @oneofyourfrenchgirls_) but COVID postponed it. Hey Katie. Last we saw you was back in January when you did a live painting at the shop for our cruisewear party. How are you? Things are good. I’m keeping busy, filling my schedule with Zoom calls for school and getting away from the computer when I can to decompress and reconnect. I’ve been trying out some new things like at home workouts, digital art and vegan cooking, and then also sticking to my go-to’s – bugging my...

Change up the Khakis

Change up the Khakis

It will be THE summertime party in Lakeshore and everyone from all the big shops will be there.  She will say that at sunset, when tans glow golden and everyone looks successful. Soon Josh will show you his new driver.  But the fish flies are out and you’re wearing khakis! Alert! The solution: dark shorts.  For a bug stain-hiding alternative, try replacing your go-to summer shorts with something darker.  Plus, they will better contrast with your loose and untucked party shirt (perhaps linen), you can get away with...

30ml Coffee Co. x Craftheads

We welcomed our good pal, Ron, from 30ml Coffee Co. and his friends at Craftheads to launch a new collaborative beer along with the latest 30ml clothing capsule. It really was a perfect fall night to crack open the coffee stout, listen to some Tunes by Teo, and chill out on our patio. Big thanks to Carly from Bluem for helping pour drinks!
