Time to Chill (Cold IPA)
Time to Chill / Cold IPA
Muddy York Brewing Co. x Granite Brewery | 355ml | 6.5%
A Cold IPA is a new style that ferments a lager yeast in place of an ale yeast that is typically used in an IPA. It also uses an adjunct grain bill and in this case, Muddy York used pilsner & flaked rice commonly used in North American lagers.
Some may call this an IPL (India Pale Lager), but the fact that it’s fermented warm and uses adjuncts makes this a distinctly different beer. The result is a clean, light bodied beer, dry and crisp, but hopped like a West Coast IPA with Citra, Centennial, Chinook, Ekuanot and Idaho 7.
